Caproin S.A. – A company committed to respecting human rights - Humane-Biz Sponsor Company: Ecopetrol 2026 – 2027

At Caproin, we are celebrating a new milestone that recognizes the ongoing work we have been doing to strengthen our management and advance toward increasingly responsible business practices.

After participating for several months in an initiative led by Ecopetrol—focused on strengthening management within its supplier chain—we received the certification and emblem recognizing us as a Company Committed to Human Rights in accordance with international standards.

Our participation took place between October 2025 and April 2026, allowing us to review, structure, and strengthen policies, procedures, and tools related to responsible management, risk identification, and our relationship with various stakeholders.

For Caproin, receiving this recognition is a source of pride. It also represents the result of a process that enabled us to turn corporate commitments into concrete actions and incorporate new tools into our way of working.

A Recognition That Reflects the Work Accomplished

The certification received marks the conclusion of several months of learning, internal review, and document drafting.

Throughout the program, we worked on different aspects of our business management, ranging from the creation of a commitment policy to the identification of potential impacts, risk management, grievance mechanisms, and the reporting of actions undertaken.

The process was structured into six stages:

  • Induction into human rights due diligence.
  • Human rights commitment policy.
  • Assessment of human rights impacts.
  • Risk management strategy.
  • Grievance mechanism.
  • Management reporting.

Rather than merely completing a series of activities, each stage allowed us to review how these principles could be integrated into Caproin’s reality and translated into applicable procedures within our organization.

The result was the consolidation of new documentary information, policies, and mechanisms that strengthen our management and enable us to continue advancing toward an increasingly structured and responsible operation.

The Work Behind the Certification

One of the most valuable aspects of the process was the ability to analyze our management from different perspectives.

The first stage was aimed at understanding due diligence, an approach that allows organizations to proactively identify potential risks and impacts associated with their activities and establish actions to manage them.

Building upon this foundation, we worked on drafting a policy that formalizes our commitment and establishes guidelines to direct our practices.

The next step was to examine our operation more concretely: identifying potential impacts, evaluating risks, and establishing actions to prevent, mitigate, or manage them properly.

This exercise made it possible to transition from principles to actual management tools.

We also strengthened grievance mechanisms, understood as channels designed to receive inquiries, follow up on situations requiring attention, and identify opportunities for improvement.

Finally, the management report brought together the work developed throughout the process and established a baseline to continue monitoring these practices.

From Commitments to Business Practices

For us, one of the main takeaways was understanding that responsible management is built when commitments are reflected in procedures, responsibilities, and concrete actions.

  • A policy establishes a direction.
  • An assessment helps recognize potential risks.
  • Management mechanisms help determine how to respond to them.
  • Service channels allow us to listen.
  • And monitoring helps identify what can be continuously improved.

The combination of these elements strengthens how a company interacts with its employees, clients, suppliers, partners, and other actors within its ecosystem.

This approach also connects with principles that have accompanied Caproin’s journey: working under criteria of ethics, professionalism, responsibility, and the comprehensive development of our team.

An Initiative That Strengthens the Entire Value Chain

The program in which Caproin participated also stems from an increasingly critical reality for businesses: responsibility does not end at an organization’s boundaries.

Clients, suppliers, contractors, and partners are part of interconnected value chains, where the practices of each actor can impact the others.

Therefore, Ecopetrol’s work with its supply chain seeks to progressively build capacities related to due diligence, prevention, grievance mechanisms, and responsible management among its suppliers.

For Caproin, participating in this process allowed us to analyze our role within that chain and strengthen tools that complement how we engage with clients, partners, and suppliers.

It also reinforces a vision we have built for over 40 years: long-term business relationships require trust, compliance, and management consistent with the commitments we undertake.

Continuing to Grow Also Means Strengthening How We Do Business

Since 1984, Caproin has built its trajectory by supporting Colombian industry with technical solutions, specialized knowledge, and long-term commercial relationships.

Throughout this journey, our organization has also evolved.

Today, speaking of business growth involves looking not only at the products and services we offer, but also at the way we develop our processes, strengthen our team, and interact with the various stakeholders in our value chain.

Consequently, this recognition integrates naturally with our vision of being a sustainable and benchmark organization, backed by a highly qualified team and a culture grounded in ethical principles, professionalism, and continuous improvement.

A Recognition That Also Invites Us to Keep Going

Receiving the certification and emblem as a Company Committed to Human Rights in accordance with international standards represents a significant achievement for our team.

It allows us to recognize the work accomplished over these past months while providing us with new tools to continue strengthening our management.

Because this process does not end with the delivery of an award.

Policies require monitoring. Risks can change. Mechanisms must remain active, and business practices can continue to evolve.

At Caproin, we will continue incorporating these lessons into our operations, strengthening the procedures developed, and seeking new opportunities to improve the way we work and relate to the people and organizations that form part of our history.

We celebrate this recognition with pride and as proof that continuing to grow as a company also means doing so responsibly.
